Sounds of Hope

Hope means believing that good things will happen, even when life is hard. But what does hope sound like?

Maybe it’s laughter with friends, the crackle of birthday candles being lit or a basketball bouncing on the pavement.

For a kid living in poverty, hope can have some surprising sounds. And your mission, Agent Explorer, is to listen closely and uncover the sounds of hope!

These mystery sounds are clues about the things Compassion sponsors and centers provide — things that help kids grow, feel safe and dream big.

Are you ready to crack the case? Then turn up the volume — it’s time to be a sound detective!

How To Solve the Mystery:

  1. Grab an adult! Ask them if you can use their phone to scan the QR codes. Tap play and listen closely. What do you think it is?
  2. Match the sound to the picture. Look at the pictures (labeled A to E) and choose the one that best fits what you heard. The pictures are zoomed in to make it harder for you!
  3. Write your answer! One a piece of paper, write the letter next to the picture and the number of the sound that go together. Like this: A + 1.
  4. Time to reveal the secret! Click here to see how that sound helps kids around the world.
