Jinsop shows off the creation he made from trash!

South America is full of incredible places God created — from giant waterfalls to colorful mountains to amazing rainforests! But some of these beautiful places have problems like rivers filled with trash, beaches covered in plastic and forests being chopped down.

So children in Ecuador are helping care for these amazing places. At a Compassion center near Guayaquil, kids started a project called Manos Verdes, which means “Green Hands.” They clean up their communities and turn old plastic bottles, cardboard and paper into toys and art to teach others about recycling and caring for nature. 

“We might be kids,” says 12-year-old Jinsop, “but we can make a difference! If we can teach one person to care for nature they will teach another, and together we can change the world.”
