Have you ever been walking in your neighborhood and you spotted a rock that someone had painted a picture on? Lots of families in the U.S. play the “hide and seek rocks” game. You can join in the fun by painting the flags of the five Asian countries where kids in Compassion’s program live. Then hide some of the rocks around your neighborhood for other families to find!

Supplies

Instructions

  1. Look around your yard and neighborhood to find five smooth, flat rocks. Wash them and let them dry.
  2. On each rock, paint the flag of all five Asian countries where sponsored kids live. Let the paint dry. Then turn the rock over and on the back, paint the name of the country — maybe with a heart above it or around it. While you paint, pray for children who live in poverty in that country. Ask God to give them enough food, water and medicine to be happy and healthy.
  3. After the rocks are dry, take a walk with your family and hide some of them around your neighborhood to give someone a nice surprise.

Check out these flags of all 25 countries where sponsored children live. Since we're focusing on Asia this summer, you could choose to paint only the Asian countries — Bangladesh, Indonesia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand. Or for extra fun, paint all 25!
